Cat food companies will often decieve consumers by using terms to describe their foods as; primium, super premium, quality and natural but there is no legal or scientific definitions for these terms. The source of the ingredients are very important and since cats are carnivores, the source should be animal based.

Have you attempted several ways to get your cat to lose weight but none have worked?

Obesity in cats has reach a crisis. This crisis occurred as a result of feeding them too much of the wrong foods. If you take your cat off carbohydrates and feed him/her a meat-based diet, your cat will be healthier and happier. Start your cat on an exercise program like; climbing a tree, fetching a ball or playing with toys. Additionally, your cat will aviod health problems brought on by obesity that can be quite costly.

Do you know what to change your cat’s diet too?

Let’s incorporate some common sense into this. To do that, we should consider your cat’s origin. Just where did your domestic cat(s) originate? Your domestic cat is a descendent of the wild cats that roam the African Deserts. Mother Nature has well-suited the cat to survive and even thrive in a desert environment.

Water is not plentiful in a desert environment. Mother Nature designed a cat in such a manner that he/she has a low thrist drive naturally. The cat is also an obligate carnivore – they have to have meat as that’s where cats derive their needed nutrients. The only plant food they eat is from the stomach of their prey.

Dry, processed and plant foods are not part of the cats’ evolutionary diet. Mother Nature designed cats in this manner because of their area of origin. Cats are obligate carnivores – they must eat meat. Their bodies are well designed to efficiently digest meat, bones and most bacteria.

For that reason, in the desert you might see cats feasting on animals that have been dead for awhile and swarming with flies, maggots and other parasites.

Cats don’t normally eat plant food but after a kill, cats will eat the stomach content of their prey and in some cases berries, seeds and wild grass are found there. That’s the only time a cat will eat plant foods. Cats get moisture from their prey’s organ meat.

Since cats don’t have a high thirst drive, prolong use of dry food causes chronic dehydration, diabetes, urinary track problems, a weakened immune system and eventual death.

Why do commercial cat food companies produce such low-grade, non-beneficial and toxic cat foods?

The commercial cat food companies objective is to make money and lots of it. They produce cheap dry foods and put harmful and sometimes deadly preservatives to extend their food shelf-life. This is bad for our cats.

In spite of the claims commercial cat food companies make with respect to their food being wholesome, nutritious, all natural and well-balanced, their claims cannot be supported by science or common sense.

What should you feed your cats?

Never ever feed your cat any dry commercial cat food. Dry food is harmful to your cat. It’s best to feed your cat a raw meat diet and avoid feeding your cat carbohydrates.

When purchasing food for your cat, always be mindful that cats are not humans. Our dietary requirements are different from cats. Return the love your cat has shown you and your family by feeding him/her food that is beneficial to them and enhance their longevity. By doing that, you will has greatly reduced the chance of your cat dying a premature death.

Choosing A Pet For The Family

Author: Alix Montoya

If you are thinking of getting a pet for companionship, you have to undertake a lot of consideration. There are many things and many responsibilities that come with owning a pet. Whatever it is that you choose, a bird, a fish, a cat or a dog, the pet will need more than just food and shelter from you. It’s going to need care and love as well.

So how do you start?

If you are someone who just want to keep a pet to give you companionship then a dog might be a good idea. Dogs are compassionate and loving and you just might fall in love with the hundreds of cute breeds out there. But if you’re looking for something that needs a little less maintenance, perhaps you are busy most of the time, there are other options out there who are less rambunctious than dogs. A cat, perhaps, or a fish, might be a better choice for you.

Once you’ve decided on what kind of pet you’re going to get, you need to consider the things that pet will need. You might want to do a little bit of research on the kind of pet you’re going to take in and find out exactly everything that it might need once it gets to your home.

Your pet’s needs are very simple. Most of the time, they’re just going to need food and this can be easily met. But the choice of food is also important. For instance, a bigger dog might eat more than a smaller toy dog. It also may require food with more energy content than its smaller counterparts and you have to consider these things when buying their food.

Owning a pet is like having a very small child. They will depend on you for some of their basic needs but they will also need something that you have to provide first hand, and that is love and a genuine passion for taking good care of your pet.
