xXOurworldXx, sitting behind here and do not enter comments. Go teach your York. As far as his age? Think lighter teams, when they learn, try to teach more difficult. Good luck.

you can give cheese…but not an everyday treat like this lady. I suggest using scrambled eggs (fully cooked to 160 degrees) to train.

Did you know that cheese is very dangerous for dogs if they eat it? Cheese and chocolate poison their systems. One day that Yorkie will lay down and won’t get back up! Poor thing!

February 14th, 2010 at 9:21 am
To be honest thought this womans traiing habits are not GOOD!!! she keeps repeating the word, and thats the number 1 no no for obidience training. Their smart dogs, they can learn down with the voice command, in a couple mins… search youtube for Victoria Stillwell.

tng3prrs hi, i cant wait till i get my teacup, at the end of this month (xmas) anywhoo yorkies are incredibly smart dogs, at 10weeks of age is when you start training them.
So not to long, and you’ll be on your way to a great dog, that listens, and respects you.
Make sure that you socialize him, and let him be comfortable with brushing the hair/teeth, and let him know his boundaries at a young age. Doing that will make him a great pet as he grows.

if you break up the treats into tiny peices and don’t give him much, it usally won’t ruin his appetite!
February 14th, 2010 at 11:00 am
i would wait until hes 6-8 months old, and it depends on how many treats you give the dog and really you just need a little tast of the treat so no it wont
